BEGOÑA AUTRIQUE
BIOGRAPHY
I was born on September 10th, 1990, in Mexico City, where I currently reside. My journey into the world of art began at a young age, influenced by my grandmother, Graciela Benassini, a talented plastic artist, who ignited my passion for creativity.
1997-2016 spanning ages 7 to 26, I immersed myself in various art forms through courses and classes. My early exploration included painting with oils and acrylics, as well as sculpting in clay, marble, and glass. Painting, in particular, has been a constant presence throughout my life, an ever-flowing wave that accompanies me through moments of joy and solitude. I honed my skills further through courses in oil painting, watercolor, and plastic arts in Monterrey, Mexico City, and Madrid.
2008-2013 I delved deeper into the realm of sculpture, studying under Marcela Arbide and collaborating with a diverse group of talented women artists, including my grandmother. During this phase, I experimented with various materials, crafting sculptures in marble, bronze, glass, and clay. I was privileged to exhibit my work as part of two group exhibitions in Mexico City.
2016-onwards I embarked on a journey of self-discovery, experimenting with new techniques. Through perseverance and countless attempts, I developed a unique approach, ultimately finding my calling in plastic art. This newfound medium empowered me to showcase and sell my creations to the public.
Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic in 2020, I found success in sharing my art with the world. To date, I have sold approximately 280 works across different sizes and series, a testament to my dedication and passion for artistic expression.
